Emily is an Occupational Therapist who specialises in helping adults regain their independence following neurological injury. A Queensland local, who initially studied Nutrition and Dietetics on the Sunshine Coast, before completing a Master of Occupational Therapy in Adelaide. She is accredited with AHPRA, a member of OT Australia and the Australasian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment.
Since graduating from Flinders University in 2013, Emily has spent her career providing holistic, person centered therapy to those suffering neurological conditions. With her calm and friendly nature, making people feel understood and supported, she will also push you to achieve your goals.
She has gained specialist assessment and treatment skills working in the South Australian Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service, assisting people with their thinking and memory, fatigue management and self-regulation to be able to return to their occupation and activities that they enjoy.
Emily has also worked as the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist in both Stroke and Neurology, as well as the Neurosurgery services at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide. During this time Emily treated a wide variety of patients with stroke, concussion, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy and motor neuron disease. Emily also has experience with NDIS access requests and functional capacity assessments.
Originally from Bundaberg, Emily has recently returned to Queensland after 12 years in Adelaide and enjoys Pilates and going to the beach with her young family and labradoodle.
